Based on the previous vote, there are more P2V+ iOS pilots than Android. Thus we start iOS beta testing first, and Android beta will be coming afterward.

Both of your P2 and P2V+ are looking in good shape. Your P2V+ 5.8G antenna seems not taped along the landing skid. Any reason of not taping it?

Wow! Your FPVLR antennas look awesome!

I suggest to keep your Vision+ as stock, and test the booster first. Then you may further test again after these antenna mods.

I expect the booster will increase 50-100% FPV range in rural area with/without antenna mod, but unsure about in urban area due to unknown noise level.

Hi,
how funny to see those high gain antennas. I thought you were using those for analog video transmission at 5.8 GHz,
the 12 turs is very directional so I can get between 15 and 20km with 5.8 ghz analog video transmitters, but with 30 degrees beamwidth you will have a hard time aiming it if you are flying a quadcopter, that is why I don't suggest those for phantom vision,

you 'd have to point exactly at the model. Also the range would just be much further than needed on a VIsion since you only need 5 or 6km of RC control range, there is no point in using such a narrow beamwidth and having 10-15km control range, but if you don't aim precisely you can lose control range even at 200 meters...

P2V has the same Atheros Wifi chipset as Vision+. The similar approach should be applicable for P2V. However, the overlay protocol built on-the-top of 802.11 is very different between P2V and Vision+. Thus, it may need a complete different software configuration and protocol hack for P2V.

Let me get this booster done for Vision+ first. I will then come back to P2V afterward.

are you guys heat testing after the mod?
You need to be careful as not to lower the reliability of the system, which might need more cooling when the rf output is increased.

We did multiple heat tests with various TX power and protocol hacks, and some tested TX power were way higher than required. There is no notable temperature increase in all our tests, though the un-boosted Wifi module is fairly warm/hot anyway.

What's wrong with flying at 640x480 30fps?
