I flew my Phantom 2 yesterday underground in a large cavern with a 180' ceiling and was pleased with the results. However, my GoPro3+ picked up more light that expected and the Q-Beam lights I had assistants aiming at cave formations and the walls kind of takes away from the video. Not to mention casting a shadow of the drone when it was between the light and the cave wall. I also had twin pen flashlights (32 lumens each) mounted to the landing struts, which didn't do much until about 6 feet from the cave walls, but they were lightweight and added some light. I practiced for days in my garage in ATTI mode before attempting this. What are some suggestions for better P2 mounted lights for next time? Any suggestions besides the small headlights I have seen on Ebay. Thanks in advance for comments and suggestions. Watch my video at:

Can't help you with lighting... But that was cool!!!

I have not found any other videos of a UAV flying and filming in a cave. I have seen the ice cave videos and entrances to caves, but nothing like where we were in Indiana Caverns, deep underground. It was a little nerve wracking, but fun.

I practiced for several days flying in my garage in ATTI mode, with only headlights on my P2 before flying in an underground cavern. Getting used to the ATTI mode in these close confines made it a lot easier when I actually flew in a cave with no GPS. Just don't over compensate when reversing direction.
