Fimrware update for way point or actual ground station

hey guys i have a few questions.....we all know the phantom has way points with the firmware that was release last year.....however does that make the actual ground station obsolete? im not sure why the wookong can not work the same way being a higher end unit then the naza... i have the dji s800 with the works...groundstation ect......I guess the concept is the same...im not sure how they are able to use the phantom with way points but have to use something like the wookong with groundstation

Phantom 2 with Naza M v2 still requires the Data Link Air End and Ground End hardware and either the PC or iPad app.
I've never had a Wookong FC so I'm not sure how that is different than the Naza for waypoints.
