Hey folks. I've been playing around with some test footage from Phantom 2 + GoPro. I'm filming in 1080p, 60fps, medium FOV, white balance auto, and using FCPX for editing. Is there a benefit to running the video through GoPro Studio first (besides adjusting length, stitching clips, or removing fish eye), or can I just import directly into FCPX and get going there?

Thanks

I have a run-of-the-mill Mac Mini with 8GB of RAM. I usually just copy the video files from my GoPro to an external drive, and import the clips directly into my projects.

Scrubbing on the timeline is a bit choppy...as is playback, just a bit. BUT in terms of saving time, I find it to be pretty much acceptable. The exported video is just fine.

Videos exported through the GoPro application do indeed playback smoother in the timeline, but I'm usually not patient enough for all that!
