Fast decending

If you want to decend fast with the p3p.
what happens if you push the throttle to zero.
on ground the motors will stop after 3 secounds, in flight
the motors will stop and it will fall down or does it sense "Im still in the air, keep the motors running.

The motors will only stop after your Phantom stops descending for 3-5 seconds. Only a CSC will stop the motors immediately.

As long as the altimeter senses the Phantom is descending, the motors won't stop in flight.

The motors halt when the copter doesn't sense any downward movement while holding the stick in the 'down' position for 3 seconds. That's partially why it's so easy to catch by hand.
