Sometimes it's good to see what the manual says rather than what people thing it says.
Here's what the manual says.
It's clear and unambiguous and it does not agree with what has been said above.

Correct. By default, it comes with S1 configured GPS / ATTI / ATTI. Position 3 has to be changed through the assistant to RTH.

Manual is a different beast than ATTI. In ATTI it will attempt to hold height and orientation but not position.
Big potential to confuse people by referring to them as the same thing. In manual, you have to control everything.

I agree it is poorly written but it's all in the translation. The Chinese need a English Technical Writer to translate these manuals.

I came to the same conclusion the first time I read them. They have done an OK job at translating them but they have not been done by a Technical Author.
