Are people still putting the FAA numbers on they're drones somewhere? I watch alot of videos and read alot of threads and I never see any mention of this anymore.

Still?
It's a current FAA requirement.

Many put it inside the battery compartment or other less visible areas.

you must have the faa number on your drone.

Mine can be read with binoculars at 200 ft. [emoji1]. Necessary? Nope. Why? I don't know.

From the knowbeforeyoufly.org website:

As of Dec. 21, 2015, the Federal Aviation Administration requires all owners of small unmanned aircraft, or drones, weighing between 0.55 and 55 pounds to register online before taking to the skies.

I have my number inside the battery compartment.

Sorry if this sounds uneducated, but doesn't DJI register the drone, with the FAA, when you create/login to your account on the DJI GO 4 app? IF so, where do you find your number?
Nope. You'll need to log onto the FAA's website, pay the 5 bucks for your number. You can then write it down to affix to your drone. I printed mine on a small return address label which I then put inside the battery compartment.
