dji drones over 500m height

Hi everyone,
Recently I've seen a few dji drones flying over 500m height. One Mavic and one P4P in my local drone group in facebook. I have P4 and I've PM the guy, who did this and he sayed that if I pay him he can do this modification to my P4. I know it's illegal but how this works? It's some kind of software modification I thing because the guy sayed that needs the serial numbers of my drone if I want him to do this modification. The uploaded screenshots are from the mavic whitch has the mod.

It wouldn't be illegal in the US! Many places here, a pilot could take off and climb to over 500 m above the Homepoint and yet be only a couple 100 feet agl! And as has been beaten to death here on several other threads, even the 400 ft agl supposed limit is only a recommendation for hobby fliers. My concern would be letting a stranger start monkeying around with the firmware on my bird! There's some pretty sophisticated programming in there and the potential to really screw something up is high!! And you would likely lose any such mod the next time you did an update!
