Here is a video showing some of the reasons I use a ND filter on most of my daylight videos.

Its 2 separate flights shot straight after each other, and the sun was behind cloud at the beginning on the left video but the last minute shows it in the same full bright sun with sharp shadows so overall it shows both in fairly similar conditions.
Using the SRP blurfix3 micro 52mm adapter and a tiffen nd .9 here.
