Best Platform for Still Photos?

For stills, would the PV2 or the P2-GoPro combo work best? Have heard that GoPro now is best for video, what with the new focus length (not so hot for landscape so I hear) and that the PV2 best for stills.

And, please, what settings would you use for stills?
