What is a good beginners quadcopter / drone to learn on before upgrading to the phantom?

check a x5c their around $50. it's a little smaller than the Phantom class. does not have any of the extra's ( GPS, RTH ALT lock). If you have not flow before this one is good. If you have may be a cx20 same size as a phantom has GPS and RTH. I think it runs around $200.

If you got to the X8HC, you get altitude hold similar to atti mode on the phantom. Is about the same size as a phantom. Headless mode on theX8 is similar to course lock on phantom. Around $100.

The Phantom is very easy to fly, much easier than the non-GPS quads. You might consider buying a used Phantom 2 or 3 to learn on and then move up to a Phantom 5 in the spring.
