some blue loctite should do the trick?

Yep

What's the difference in the MKII versions?

Skinnier and a little noisy. Still work, though - just that the MKII are the recommended ones.

Also-is this the setup you flew here(lake havasu)?

Nope. Was using a P2. The main problem with an 800 (to me) is transporting it. If I fly, I take a GoProfessional case and the P2

OT: I've discovered this whole area is flooded with "air-wave" band RF stuff.....so, next Feb, bring a VTX that's non-airwave band(like 5705ghz works best out there....was at the same spot as you-and got well over 1000M not problems. Tried AW band-got 100M).

Interesting. I sure got lousy reception. Will do that.

Which 6S 10K batteries are you using? And-since XT-60 is only good for ? don't remember voltage-which connectors do you use?
I think with 6S10K and 15"...my flight times should be well into the 15 minute range, at 3000+ grams...I can even put the retracts back on!!

I am using Pulse batteries on the 800. Expensive but pretty good. I also have a GensAce 5000 mah which works fine, too, Lighter and gets less flight time but still very usable.

I use XT-60. One could argue that it is under the needed max specs but the reality is that the constant draw (not the peak) is well under the maximum. They don't heat up at all.

Cool-thanks.
What's your AUW and your flight time with the 6S 5000mah?
I measured from the tip of each of my props(11X5), at their closest-and I have 4 1/2" clearance. So-that 800 is going to be all prop!!! That's a lotta lift!!!
Yea-LHC is not friendly to AW band....dunno why. Went 1500M the other day-clear as a bell, VTX=AVL58 on 5705Ghz.

And yea-transporting this thing requires an SUV......it's big, doesn't fold up-and I'm not taking the arms off. But-there's plenty to do here.....

I

Dunno. Haven't measured either. I normally don't fly the 5000 mah. I use it for running up the machine on the bench most of the time. My battery is a pill to change so I don't deplete it unnecessarily. It does fly well with it, though.

It is somewhere around 4kg without the battery so ... somewhere around 4800 grams. A little over 5000 with the 10 amp.

OK, thanks. And what camera are you flying on it now?
Oh, and do you mount the battery underneath on rails, or on top? I use the rail system with a battery tray on the bottom-so the battery hangs down with only a single velcro strap, and a couple of velcro strips on the battery holding it in. So, gonna probably have to find a better solution-that's one long, heavy battery.

Flying a RageCam with a 3D gimbal. Battery goes underneath. Was very worried about putting it on top - it is a heavy sucker and I wanted to get CG near the center (which I did). I have it on two straps plus a 2" cradle (also Velcro). The battery is almost covered in Velcro.

Yea, I have room for 2 velcro straps. rage cam-go pro with a lens? gimbal?
OH, stupid question; your 800mm is a hex, right? Who's arms-or did you use extensions?

Cool..even better.
Why does it say this in the instructions? - Remarks : Remember to use BEC module to power up the Flight Controller (11.1V)
I have a naza V2-I thought it handled 6S direct....

The NAZA doesn't accept 6S power direct, the PMU does (which is effectively the BEC the instructions refer to)...the NAZA only takes 5v power through the X3 input.

Ahhhh.... 81 pages Finished... 550 is due to arrive Tuesday.

quick... let's get another 81 in before Tuesday!

There is quite a bit in this thread. Someone industrious might like to cull out the bad stuff and make a 'super' archive...

Ha... cought up again. Your plans have been foiled...

That is almost not even funny.

That's kinda what I thought-everything goes through the PMU or PMU V2.....
You're running the sunnysky 2814-11 KV 700, with ? don't remember the prop size or your weight. I do remember you said that the 3508's would have been a better choice....bigger stator=more efficient?

81 pages...I had stopped and bookmarked page 34-I really need to catch up. hope i"m not bringing up stuff that"s already been discussed

Prior to you jerks posting another 82 pages I put all the links together from the pertinent items. I hope it is useful to everyone. If it is perhaps OL can make it a 550 sticky or something that or going forward we can just reference page 82!

Bit harsh-don't you think? I don't see any jerks here....just people looking for information.

Thanks.

But-most of those links are dead.

EDIT: FYI, I've read all the pages now-including this one.
Very little discussion on engines other than the E300, and the sunnysky 3508's that OI is running.
So-what I was discussing above-about my F800, running bigger props/engines, had not been discussed before-at least not on this thread.

I hope you are using the word "jerks" as a 'term of endearment,'... LOL ;)

Nice compiled list of important stuff we all posted over time... Thanks!

havasuphoto--- Oh my please do not take my joke about jerks serious, If there were another 82 pages on this subject I would read them all... It was a retort to adding another 82 pages, in jest. Just a bit of banter. None of the links are dead I checked them all. I do believe that the HTML of them has been cut off for some reason... OL, Something that can be done on that?

PJA- Thanks for seeing the efforts.

Kit showed up today. I can't wait to get some time to build it. In typical child fashion I unpacked it all knowing that I could not do anything with it but repack it for building another night.

Just beware....these things are Money Sponge's!!!

You got that right. I'm managing my Air R/C and Gound R/C. My wife keeps giving me the evil eye but I just tell her. "I earned it.". She just shakes her head.

All this R/C stuff is a Money Pit to the 2nd power for me. If I'm not flying, I'm driving. Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!
