It looks like DJI now has a spring loaded throttle to go with this new firmware. Here is how it works: above 50%, Phantom will climb. Less than 50%, it will come down. That is why you are not getting a takeoff until you get above 50%.rapyd said:I updated my Phantom to the new 3.12 and I have one problem. The throttle stick doesn't have any response between about 10% and 60%, does anyone know why? or how to fix that?
Thanks

Anybody know where to get the old software from?
I know what you mean, 60 years of flying and have that throttle thrown at you. Bring up the page that you downloaded software from, at the bottom there is an " online help" click on it. Brings up another page, onleft side curse down to "ready to fly phantom," curse down below all their crap till you find release history. Click on the one for 2.00 assistant, will download 2.00 software then do the same as you did for the upgrade. Don't believe by going back, that you are losing any great improvements. You're not, if you fly like me, the 2.00 is better. They are trying to appease people that don't know how to fly. Any problems I'll be back. P.S. most of their flyaways were related to gropros with wifi left on.rapyd said:Hmmm, I'm not a big fan of the new throttle position in the 3.12 software. tanasit said:Yes, the option for the take off will be nice. I for one didn't care about 50% throttle auto take off
I don't see what the big deal is. I think the old RC guys really like the old way of doing things - moving the throttle moved a servo which gave more power. These days, we are not flying. The little computer in the Phantom is flying. We are just telling it what we'd like it to do.Gary39 said:Can't keep up with what dji is doing. Apparently the new models have a sping loaded throttle. Nobody will be able to tell what's going on. I give up,never seen anyting like it. Talk about confusion. Apparently the new software is meant for the newer models ? Why the hell can't dji say so, or at least give us a clue what the hell they're doing. What an outfit! I'm disgusted !!! They should have informed everyone that the new downloads were not for older models. "Frustrated" is not the word, if they don't have a bad mishap with their sell and fix later attitude I'll eat ny hat !
I like to fly!Gary39 said:Guess you guys are right, phantom wasn't made for guys who want to fly, just for people to take videos. Sorry I interferred with this forum.
tanasit said:It is being so since DJI is geared toward the Phantom that most people fly for videography so the auto take off plus center stick hover are the godsend to them.
Many Phantom flyers with old firmware had trouble with taking off and crash will also appreciated these new features.
So again, if you feel like having all control yourself, try flipping to MANUAL mode.
Note: DJI is coming out with the throttle spring kit for the old TX.
