Will Trackimo be obsolete soon?

    Well Trackimo and UAV Mods trackers not work soon?
    They are fading out 2G/GSM and from what I read that is what the above 2 use to triangulate location.
    Was about to buy one till I started reading this stuff. Now I'm not sure.

    Trackimo is apparently going to release a new version of their tracker and give existing customers some kind of discount (per another thread posted here last week). I emailed Trackimo to ask what their plan was when 2G support ends, but I haven't heard back yet. I'll follow up when they reply.

    It includes 1st full year of service; $5 per month after that.

    2g has already been phased out in my area. My alarm communicator that is on 2g even stopped working. I would advise against buying any 2g based trackers.

    Yes, all 2G is being phased out. Mine will probably cease working soon too. :(
