Why can't we just use a USB splitter??

serious question: why can't we just use a usb splitter to connect to *both* the headset AND controller thereby being able to fully use the features of both the ipad and the goggles simultaneously?

It would be easier for you to Google that question generically. Suffice to say USB is bidirectional serial protocol. Two USB hosts talking to a single USB device (or vice-versa) is not supported neither on physical neither on logical level of the protocol
