What is that extra grey/red wire inside of the Phantom? I pulled it through one of the holes to expose it outside of the shell just incase i find use for it. But I don't know what I can use it for

An advise, that wire is 12v, so for power ie, GoPro you must use a BEC regulator for down to 5v. Many FPV cams uses 12v so it is OK for connecting directly to wire.

You should check the diagram from the FPV manual.
