Twitching gimbal motors

I have been building a motorpixie gimbal with a simple bgc 3.1 controller and when I try to calibrate the gimbal the first time I get twitching from the motors. Does anyone have experience with this and what the did to correct it?

I was experiencing this with a bgc 2.2b. The twitching (for me) was a result of the brushless motors meeting some resistance (the weight of the fc200 cable was enough!) and there not being sufficient power delivered to the motors. You can change this in the basecam GUI via usb.
