Strange sound in mid-air... or is it?

My phantom makes what I hear as a possibly strange sound - as it's flying, it sounds like "bjjjjjj-vjjjj"; but at some moments it sounds like "bdZZZZZZZ" for a bit; then keeps with the "bjjj-vjjj" sound.

I know it's silly, but well describes it. Does that sound normal? The sound just gets more "bzzz"-ing at times.

You've done an excellent job translating a noise to words! What you've described sounds normal. Airflow around the propellers changes a lot during a flight and the pitch of the sound will change accordingly. Especially with the stock propellers. You get a little bit more consistent sound with carbon fiber since they're stiffer and resist deflection.

Of course, I'm just a CPA, not an aeronautical engineer!
