I anyone else had haf an issue with a sqeeky gimbal on start up. I just bought a cam of pressurised air from kmart. Sprayed the entire phantom and the seek had gone. Coincidence? Probably but it's worked.

Ok. I did the firmware update the same day i used the compressed air so i guess i will never know. I do recommend using the compressed air regardless. Especially after doing beach flights

IMO. I would use a vaccuun instead of compressed air as air pressure will push contaminants further into the parts your trying to clean.
