I also ordered some extra stuff, I hope they ship separately. Probably not though, so really hope they have an adequate inventory on launch day.

Did you put the batteries and props on the same order? In hindsight, I should have ordered them separately.

Same order. I won't actually be picking mine up until just before Christmas though so it shouldn't really make a difference.

"Shipping estimation: Within November on a first come first served basis."

Changes on Amazon, too, most vendors now quoting shipping as some time in November and interestingly there are no more units available direct from Amazon or available under the Amazon Prime program anymore (but the quoted ship date of 10-31 for my order of a few weeks ago hasn't changed... so far at least.)

So it looks like first units are spoken for, for those still wanting one at the end of the month best bet may be to camp out a retailer and hope for the best.

I do not understand why we cannot get a better idea of when the first units are likely to be available.
If retailers are expecting to have stock for delivery next week then they must have sight of the shipments coming in. Perhaps they don't know how many units but they must surely know whether ANY shipments are incoming.

When reviewers received their units they said that it arrived in bubble wrap and not in retail packaging. I think someone mentioned that there were only a few units available. If this was the case then it would be an incredible ramp up to production to make any number of units available within 1 month.

I may be wrong but I suspect that DJI had to announce deliveries would take place before the Karma deliveries. That way they can sabotage the Karma launch and gain time to get their production underway.

I hope I am wrong as I have a delivery date of the 21st October but feel that in order to meet that date there must have been something happening (shipping, tracking information etc)

I am guessing that DJI told them 10/17 and they haven't heard differently. Why would CD feel the need to tell their customers anything else? The emotional investment some have in the arrival date amazes me.

I am not saying anything bad about cd at all. But its really up to dji to get the product to them in that time frame and its not their fault if that does not happen. As far as the emotional investment you are correct. ANYDAY, a new dji drone shows up in the mail is one hell of a good day. Heck even waiting is kind of fun in a way and honestly its all I have to look forward to now.
