Every flight, first time I press the RC Record Video button, nothing happens, I have to press it a second time to start recording (red square).
Following presses work good. It is just the first time.
Sometimes I take a photo from the RC button, I hear the characteristic sound but the photo is not taken/saved.
Some minutes ago I pressed three times (three sounds), went to GO4 editor, selected Photos tab, no photos.
I went back to camera display, pressed again and then the photo was taken.
I realized that the photo is really taken when the animation ring around the white circle/button on the screen starts.
It is crazy to distract my attention on the image to see if the animation starts to verify the photo has been saved.
P4P, Mini 2, Mini 4, last firmware (march 7), last Go4 update, original cable.
What can be happen?

I don't think your situation is unique.
With regards to the Tx buttons I have similar issue. For me the Tx buttons give me no response on pictures more times than not and a like issue (as you described) with the videos. Best guess is this is a firmware issue and not a camera failure. As a workaround, I will often use the soft buttons on the screen and doing so has never failed me.

Okay, but it is not that practical for me, I use a sun hood (made by myself, long enough to avoid sun reflections.
Do you use other apps to program flights?

Yes, I use Litchi and DJI ground station, however when I use those two apps the camera setting are preset in POI's, so I don't need to use the manual shutter, thus they are not a fair comparison vs the DJI go 4 app. I also do agree with you that it should work and I can see how a hood would not make it easy to access the optional screen. I too would like to know how many others have had like issues. I also don't know if DJI has ever been made aware of the problem. For me, it has never been hard to duplicate the problem. It happens when I am just bench testing in the house vs having to be in the air.

DJI GS needs a lot of improvement. I posted some issues in DJI forum site. I have installed Litchi but I only used for a couple of tests. I've been using for more than a year FPV Camera with a P3P without problems. They started to appear with my P4P. They have a Facebook page for discussion. I am the only who has posted about them, not sure if is my drone problem or what.
Related to this topic I created a waypoint mission with 50 points, each one with a Take Photo action. I set the speed 2 m/s slow enough to not to shot many photos in a short period of time: 10+ secs between each.
In GO4 you can shot jpegs each 2 secs. The issue was that at three (more in other tries) points no photo was taken. It doesn't make sense but that happened. I had to add Wait 3 secs before and wait 3 secs after Take Photo to have time enough to take it by myself. Surprisingly some times I got 2 identical photos, one from the app Action and the other by pressing RC button (both almost taken simultaneously).
I also have other random issues like to slow mission upload speed. A guy commented his uploads are very fast. So I don't know where's the problem and how to fix it. Hope it is not the Phantom

I have not had any issues with taking multiple shots in short timeframes.

Yesterday, while messing around with the DJI ground station, I decided to try a large number of picks in a small area, about half an acre of back yard with a pic every few feet.

Specially I was using the the 3D function and I took 68 overlapping photos at a low level altitude.

I wanted to see how well I could stitch that half acre into a single large picture that would have incredible detail when doing super zooms on the computer. The why was to see how well I could use the camera for searching a given area.

Anyway, the mission executed as planned and not a single photo was dropped, so I don't think the camera is less than what I expected, but I think the firmware does have some bugs.

BTW, the stitched photo turned out great. Huge at about 60 megabytes, but great detail of the area.

Here's a list of my first mission with GSP, look at the time from 2nd to 3rd points

I see the time difference for sure. That is odd.

I said I could duplicate in the house, and here is the pattern I found.

After boot up of all devices, the first press of the the camera works as expected except sometimes the focus assist does not show on the first pic. Reboot everything, press video first, and the first press fails, works on second press. Then if I go back to pictures, the focus assist fails again on the first pic. Also, when the focus assist fails, the audible shutter sound from the iPad is not present too, then it returns on the subsequent pics.

I didn't notice any dropped photos in today's test, but I certain that it has happen before.

On another unrelated issue, the screen is now telling me that I need to calibrate the OA. Worked fine yesterday, so why today. Maybe it is just because I am inside in low light. I will have to try it again outside. What a pain in the ....

How ironic...
My screen button is unreliable at best and the button on the controller works every time!
