Shock-mount GPS module?

I have had the pleasure of a hard crash which cracked my GPS antenna. I wonder if it would be a good mod to "shock-mount" the GPS module in the upper shell so that it has a fighting chance in a hard crash. I ended up buying several antennas for cheap, however I destroyed my GPS board with my inferior soldering skills. ($160 for new one which just arrived in my mailbox today).

Any input on the shock-mount idea?

You would need eight rubber dampers and long screws

I don't know if it would fit within the shell though

I think it might have a better chance if you don't screw it down to the cover, but just use some double-stick foam tape instead.

If you really want protection, tape a sponge to the top of your Phantom :)

I saw a youtube vid of somebody just swapping the cracked porcelain antenna on the board with a new one. only a few bucks and only one thing to solder, how could that be screwupable???
