Question on older vs newer model Phantom 3 Advanced/Pro

Worry not! This is not another stress crack thread...

I've noticed that on DJI's website they increased the range of the Phantom 3 Adv/Pro to up to 5km (If I'm not mistaken I recall it being up to 2km before).

Does anyone know if this applies to the older models (old motors and shell) or did DJI Improve it's lightbridge technology with the newer P3's?

Wondering as I have the older model...

It applies to all Phantom 3 Adv/Pro -- old and new. Their original numbers were probably just a little too conservative.

The P3 Advanced and Pro always had great range from the day they were released.
It's not that there's anything new that gives them greater range.
DJI finally updated their specs to show the range users were getting rather than the old numbers they had there originally.
