Read about it on Bloomberg Businessweek http://www.businessweek.com/article...ube-going-after-gopro-with-a-99-action-camera

Here's the official link from Polaroid: http://www.polaroid.com/cube

The technical specs are still lacking with the only information I could gather was the "1080p HD video, 124° wide angle lens, and built in battery that records up to 90 minutes." from the Polaroid link. But I'm interested in a new competitor to the action camera genre with possible multirotor applications. Perhaps this could be a great addition to some of the smaller mutirotors?

It looks nice however, I would never hang a camera under my quad with a magnet in it's bottom plate. Or any magnet.

I never even considered the magnet, guess it's not as perfect as I initially imagined.

I'd rather try something like this on my Phantom --- 360 degree video:

Oh crap... too many options coming down the road. Makes me want to sit in the corner of my closet, sucking my thumb...

It's made by Polaroid which means it will be cheap, nasty, not very good, won't last five minutes and.... you will probably have to take the SD card out and shake it about in the air to get the footage off  (OK.. I made that last bit up)
