I have set my camera to take both jpeg & raw photos.

When I download the pics, the DNG files are much larger in file size, but actually smaller in pixel size.

The DNG files are saved with a resolution of 960 by 540 resolution --- average size of 17 MB per pic

The Jpeg files are saved with a resolution of 4000 by 2250 resolution -- file size about 4 MB per pic

The JPEG pics actually look better than the DNG is that right???

This is because standard windows applications are showing you the thumbnail JPEG file embedded in the DNG file. You are not actually looking at the DNG file at all until you open it in a capable application like Lightroom or Photoshop.

DNG is much better. Just last night I was taking pictures of the sun set. Sky bright and the ground was dark. JPEG couldn't get the ground looking right while getting it lighter. DNG was no problem plus great looking natural shots with good colors. DNG can correct a lot of mistakes.
