Having a couple batteries to burn I went to one of the last remaining natural desert patches in Tucson proper. Having flown there before to test the Phantom 1, 2 and 3's camera, FPV and flying characteristics I decided to see what the Phantom 3 Pro could do in atti mode. I also decided to test my new DJI carbon props that I had just balanced (love them!). This time I did not use the screen recorder, but next time I will. Speeds varied from about 25 mph in the sweeping corners to 31 - 36 mph on the straight runs, both forward and backwards. I did notice the gimbal had a hard time 'correcting' the horizon right after hard turns, but it eventually caught up. I used to fly slope, thermal and electric sailplanes and this fun with the Phantom reminded me of those times. I just had to remember that with the Phantom 'full throttle' with the right stick to move forward would put one of my sailplanes nose-first into the dirt! Post your Speed Trial videos!
