Built on Mont Valerien, the highest hill 162 meters, located about two kilometers west of Paris, on the municipalities of Suresnes, Nanterre Rueil-Malmaison, it has not been demolished.
During the Second World War, more than a thousand hostages resistant and there were shot by the Germans.
La Defense is the first European business district. It is located in the Hauts-de-Seine. La Defnse is in the extension of the historic Parisian axis that starts at the Louvre and continues through the avenue of the Champs- Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, and beyond to the Pont de Neuilly and the Ark of La Defence.
