As many know, the latest DJI GO App, released when the Phantom 4 was launched has a line of code in it which will not let a Phantom 3 take off if a Non-DJI battery is detected.
The quick fix is to just uninstall the DJI GO app from your tablet or phone and then install the previous version of the DJI GO app.
I recommend this to a fellow Phantom owner but he didn't wish to take the chance. So, I tried it. I did it to my Nexus 7 tablet... reverted the DJI GO app back to the January 2016 version.
My Phantom 3 has the newest firmware as does my controller. The old DJI GO app seems to work fine and 3rd party batteries work fine. I'm just wondering if there is something I'm missing by having the latest firmware and running an older DJI GO app? I can't see any difference in flight so far.
