Wow! Those bottles are going to act like sails in the air. This has got to be a gag mod, right? The camera will get wet on water, and the phantom will fly like a cork in a washing machine. I'll donate 10 bucks to the first person to fly with this mod, land on water, then post the video! (you'll need the 10 bucks..)

some would say you owe 10 bucks? but as we are in the P2V+ forum and I don't think you get a waterproof case for the camera you could have a get out??

I had a ziplock bag over one of the landing struts to keep the compass dry.

I have tried many float systems. This one worked well enough to keep the bird from sinking. In a slow descent into calm water, maybe none of the electronics would get wet. It was never my intent to land and take off from water, just keep it on the surface for recovery in case of an accidental water landing. Many of the places I am shooting video is over extreme whitewater with big waves and fast water flow, so any water landing would get the internals wet. That's why I built a completely waterproof quad that floats.

Hats off to you... I owe you 10! I just noticed it was a gopro and not the v2+. That is some sweet scenery. Looks like a road I traveled in northern Idaho. Am I close?
Here's a baked idea. Put 2 inches of water in the front bottles, then insert 2 goldfish, then fly 'em around so we can watch their expressions! Bet it would do well on youtube, just need to think of a funny caption!

OMG Please stick 2 small furry animals inside of the 2 front bottles! We'll worry about the caption later. Tell PETA you are performing an experiment in evolution, that perhaps future generations of [insert species here] will become mini drone pilots as a result of your efforts. Where was PETA when they sent a chimp into space??? We have got to bring more humor into this hobby! :)
