Basically no major changes. Keep it under 500 feet, keep it in sight. No training, license or ID required. Commercial operators need to apply and have a tested operator at the controls but not an actual certified pilot. Could have been a lot worse.

Proposed rules. Not real yet.
Things could change before the rules become effective which will be at least 60 days from the proposal date of Feb 15 2015
Probably longer to create the necessary certification tests and testing centers.

I hope this generates huge growth in the drone market. I would expect large numbers of applications for commercial operators and new drone businesses in the coming year.
That in turn will generate demand and money for new and better drone products on the market.
