new battery in p4p

I'm new to drones and I have been flying a p4p. I want to buy a second battery for it. Do I need to do anything like programming to the battery or can I just charge it and put it in the p4p and fly?

DJI GO will prompt you to update the battery firmware if needed. If you see no message, then you can just charge it and fly.
