The Don said:The new Phantom, v1.1.1, isn't PPM. It's D-BUS. And they added a second antenna. I figure they did both in an attempt to stop flyaways.
The best measures to take are to put a label on your phantom with your contact info AND have a tracker of some sort on it. Neither did me any good when I lost it in a lake, though.
I have the newer version with 2 antennae's and on the second flight it went into a high speed lock out. Luckily I was not that high up when it happened and it only went approximately 50 feet before it crashed into the ground. The system was replaced and no problems with the new unit so far. I feel like I'm on pins and needles every time I fly just waiting for it to happen again. This is not an isolated incident as there are way too many stories of this happening. I'm to the point that I calibrate the compass before every flight and constantly checking the IMU calibration. As much as I truly love the Phantom, I don't enjoy being on pins and needles. They are selling crazy numbers of these each month and you would think that DJI would address this issue (or maybe not).
