Whilst not strictly the correct place for this question-
I have a Gopro 3+ black on the way, and am getting baffled in selecting a memory card. I keep coming across class 10 cards that claim 45MB/sec, but reading the spec closely the claim drops to 'up to 30MB/sec read/write.

I'd appreciate a bit of help finding my way through the marketing speak.

SanDisk Extreme microSDHC UHS-1 Card 32g/45mb/s*

The caveat that is under the asterix(*) states that this is ultimately dependent on the device it is used in. I know for my amateur use in the same camera, it has performed flawlessly and is a reasonable price. About $30 USD

Thanks, would this be an example of your recommendation:

I can confirm that the SanDisk Ultra 64GB SDXC card works well in the GoPro Hero3 black in all modes of recording.

It also downloads blazing fast with a USB3.0 card reader.

Yes- it looks a little different but it may just be packaging for the UK versus the states.

That card in the post above me is in another of my gopros... the silver- it has also worked flawlessly- I have not had any issues with sandisk overheating- double check that packaging though as I know my card is different on the way it looks even though the specs are identical to what you linked.

There are indeed a ton of Sandisk counterfeits out there; many are so good even Sandisk can't tell them apart. I found that in the US, the ones from Costco appear to be reliably genuine, and definitely fast enough for the H3B.

I've been purchasing refurbed SanDisk Extreme 64Gb's (SanDisk Extreme 64GB microSDXC SDSDQXL-064G) direct from SanDisk for roughly half of MSRP price ($45 US). I have five now that I use in various camera/video devices and have never experienced a problem.

Sorry, the link is: shop.sandisk.com and then click on the "refurbished" link at the bottom of the page. They come with the same warranty as new ones.
