I had a P4 fall and it was covered under warranty. Yes, you can buy just the drone. sometimes you can find them on E Bay.

I have the p4p+ controller, any idea if the controller will work with other models of dji drones?

It will work with an ordinary P4 pro aircraft.

Check Adorama & B&H.... one of those two sites has a P4P aircraft only.
