LED failsafe flashes on setup

I've just tried to set up my Phantom (original) but every time I plug in the battery I get the flashing red (orange light).
I've tried everything.
Software is up to date.
Please help.

There's a bit of reluctance to help folk that have not read the manual.

You would do well to list the things you have tried to solve this.
