Kp Rating

Deep breaths. I said in post #8 that I don't believe all of the red zones in the kp apps.
I am not a rocket scientist. But rocket scientists say ion storms effect gps reception, and the Phantom has a gps receiver.
Never mind rocket scientists saying that ion storms affect GPS reception.
What's important is what they say about how much it affects GPS reception and how much difference that makes to systems using consumer grade GPS.
Do high kp indexes make Phantoms fly away or crash?
What Kp value do you want to call high?
Maybe if you turn the Kp dial all the way to 11, it will have all kinds of impacts but there hasn't been anything in the last 3 years that's affected Phantom flying in any noticeable way.
In that time there have been many days where the Kp index went to levels classified as "high" by popular forecasting sites and apps and we never saw any widespread mystery conditions affecting Phantoms.
If the effects are to add a little extra error to the error that your GPS already has, that won't make your Phantom fly away or crash.
