Took my secondary, V1 Phantom up off of my back porch today. It was my first time using it for a month or two as it needed a new battery and I was busy flying my P2 since instead. But, ordered a battery and took it up, 5sec after takeoff it sped off in one direction and would not respond to any input. Knowing it was going to be out of line of sight in mere seconds and not sure where it would eventually hit something (was only about 6ft up), I decided to kill the power and splash it into the river behind my house.
I estimate the water is about 6-8ft deep, and I'm pretty sure I know the roundabout area it went down. As far as the river there's not too much current I don't think and the residents include some manatees, dolphins and this year a bull shark was caught in the same intercoastal waterway, but the shark thing was a fluke and must have gotten lost. It wouldn't be the most pleasant experience nonetheless. And that's even if I could find it.
So what I would like to know is could the Phantom even work again after being completely submerged like that?
