Should my iPhone 7 Plus be able to play 4K videos? I record in 4K, pop memory card straight into my iPhone using lightning attachment and it won't play the video?

Can you find the video in your iPhone? Then you may have a try to playback it.

According to the iPhones official tech specs page, video playback up to 4k is supported, but it doesn't appear to include 4k. It has format/codec/frame rate limit. In this case, you may try a video converter to convert your Phantom 4 Pro 4K video to your iPhone 7 supported format. Some programs even preset optimized iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus profile like Brorsoft Videomate.

No way I-phone is going to be able to play P4 Pro 4k vieo files straight out of bird. Not near enough processor power in the phone. Like above guy said they will have to be converted and prob rendered to match the IPhone's capability.
