Yes it will, in fact when you open it all the way it will just barely fit into it. It will not with any type of case on the iPad though.

It's a little large for my taste, but many people are using it. I normally fly my Phantoms with an iPad Mini 4.

I was using my iPad Air 2. I picked up a 10.5" iPad Pro this week so I'll use that for my next fight. Same width as the Air 2 so it should fit in the controller. It's a little bit taller (wider when used to fly).
