Improving FPV

I use a TS351 and a RC305 200mw, with a pair of cloverleaf (AVL58)
I get a quite short range (maybe about 500 meters) a lot of dropouts , and way worse when the phantom is on its way back.
I was wondering how I could get a more reliable link without falling in installing a military type ground station...

First thing to do is to look at your antenna connectors in the center some connectors are male and some are female, make sure your connectors match up male to female.
