I despise You Tube help videos. They are usually poorly done, poor lighting, bloviating presenters, too long, etc.

Once in a while you see it just right. I just ordered a P4P and so I'm starting the rounds of more detailed videos and such on how to _____________.

So I searched on "How to install Phantom 4 propellers"

And was delighted to get this video. That's how to do a "how to"!

I would love to do some of these on camera repair. All i have is a smart phone and I am 73.

You're all set!

First thing, please shoot landscape and not portrait orientation.

Light your background - make it uncluttered.

Light your subject and area - make it as uncluttered as possible.

The smart phone focus control will be an issue. You may need to get a proper camera where you can set the focus and leave it alone.

Sound (with a smart phone) will be an issue. Better to get a headset-mic or microphone.

Brevity and conciseness mark a great video. Long explanations about why you're doing the video boor people to death.

Edit out dead time and irrelevancies.

Do a practice run first and get the order of things right.

The US military manual of presentations:
  • Tell 'em what you're going to tell them (brief intro)
  • Tell 'em (The guts)
  • Tell 'em what you told them. (The brief summary)
Your age has nothing to do with it if you're able to do the work.

Alan, thank you very much for recommending landscape orientation over portrait . Any video shot in portrait orientation is an absolute annoyance! [emoji106]
