Okay so I got a question.. when recording a 4k video on my p4 it saves to my phone because of video cache. Right? So if I transfer it to my iMac to edit with iMovie will the resolution be downgraded to what the phone can handle? Or can I use a SD adapter to get full resolution? Just wondering so I get what I'm doing.

Thanks

It saves it on the SD card.

I believe the video cache would be in 720p (crappy)

Yes -- you should transfer the video from your memory card instead of using lower quality version cached on your mobile device.

I have an iMac 5k Retina. I don't think I've ever saved a single flight video to my iPad...the resolution is too low (720p). The camera is capable of 4K, I wouldn't want anything less to edit.

At the end of the day, I always pull the SD card, put in in a card reader (there's one built into my iMac) and drag the files to the desktop. You could also use the Image Capture utility that comes on all Macs as part of the OS.
