I just got one of these off of ebay thinking it was a boscam ts353 Tx. Having received it today I noticed it looks different then the pictures online and nowhere does it say boscam or ts353 on the device or documentation. Is this typical or should I be concerned? I am pairing it with a boscam 5802 monitor. I was going to get the immersion tx, but I heard multiple reports that the two don't work well together. Any insight is much appreciated. I also notice the ebay listing has this device as being an SMA antenna, but some other places list the ts353 as RP-SMA. I ordered SMA antennas to go with this but the Tx antenna and Tx have pins. Looks like the SMA antenna for the Rx will be fine for the 5802 monitor.

I'm not sure the authenticity of that Tx. If you are concerned then put up a dispute in ebay. Hopefully you used paypal. easier for disputes.

As antenna polarity... RP-SMA is a type of SMA. It's totally retarded... it was invented because the FCC wanted a way where the average person couldn't tamper with antenna/gain etc... it obviously didn't work.

That being said... boscam, DJI AVL58 (which is a boscam) lists their tx as SMA which is correct however they should be more specific and state that it is RP-SMA. You can use any antenna just make sure you get the appropriate connector. I'm no expert but I always try to avoid connectors as they are failure points especially with the transmitter . you don't want an antenna to fall off!

It appears to be the real deal. You could probably make a fuss and the seller would return it but, you did buy it and it clearly does not say BosCam in the ad. In reality, it probably is the same TX, made in the same factory, just not branded a BosCam.

When your talking SMA connectors the 'RP' is reverse polarity. I needed an adapter for my Immersion TX so I got the 90 degree version. Solid as a rock.

Here is some SMA 101 for ya - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMA_connector

It's funny that they used the term reverse polarity which insinuates that positive is negative and negative is positive when it only means which side has the pin... male or female.

What is the price you will get both TS353 and Boscam 5802 LCD?

I found that from BG is cheaper that other stores.

Boscam 7" RX-LCD5802 5.8GHz Diversity Receiver: http://j.mp/1lZuham
LCD Battery Charger: http://j.mp/1h3CreQ
TS353 400mw: http://j.mp/1gJ6t7s

I got everything off of ebay. The monitor was basically the same price. I am concerned about the Tx as it looks different from the images I'm seeing online for a TS353. I notice the one on hobbyking, on the side opposite the heat sink there are 4 orangish/tan chips in the middle. The one I received only has one of those. I appreciate all the feedback and antenna info. Here's everything I bought:

Panel Antenna
Circular Polarized Antenna
Tx
Boscam LCD5802

I do need to figure out a charger for the LCD. I was hoping to find one on Amazon or something a bit easier to attain since everything is almost here. I should've ordered it at the same time.

*Edit
After a little bit more looking around mine looks like the 200mw Tx in this kit. Anyone think I'll have an issue with it working with the Boscam?

TS351 is 200mW
TS353 is 400mW
compatibility? they're basically the same just different power output.

I'm starting off with a 351 myself, it arrived the other day but I haven't installed or tested it yet. How aggressive do you intend to be with your flying? If you're going to maintain LOS and not go more than 1-2km a 200mW vTx should theoretically be fine... that's why I'm starting there, based off this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6LuEhuU-l8

also made the decision based on battery life. I intend to tap into Phantom power (as opposed to having a separate Tx battery) so I wanted lower draw. I can share a great video about setting that up if you need

I was trying to go with a TS353 400mw. Not really sure how far I'll go yet, but starting out I'll definitely be maintaining LOS. My concern is what was actually shipped to me may be inferior to what I paid for or may not work at all.
