Hard case and antenna damage

I have noticed on various pictures and discussions people are putting the securing strap over the controler antenna's and risk damaging them in the hard case .I put the strap under the antennas and fold the antennas over the top so no force is applied .

I cut the strap off.

I always put the strap under, but I am also thinking about cutting them off. You don't need it!

I would cut them off. I think they will Chaff the surfaces over time.
