gimbal up down up down...

Newbie.
Flown about 8 times.
Always in Beginner Mode.
Last two flights, pre-flight, gimbal wouldn't stop
up down up down up down...
Even after GPS signal OK'd flying.
(maybe those are unconnected events...?)
Sent P4P+ skyward whilst gimbal still doing up-down.
Eventually it stopped whilst in flight & I could shoot stills.
Both take-off spots were flat, gimbal not hitting anything.
Suggestions? Thanks.
(total gimbal movement time about 4 minutes before stopping)

I have never seen that before. When you first powered the drone itself up, did it do it's little exercise along with the I'M happy chirps? Doodle da doop or something like that.

Did you install the 1.2.602 firmware update? I saw a few people mention this issue went away after installing it.

I think he was trying to be funny. I merged his post to make sense... I think.

Does it do it every time you start it, or just once?
I would be sure to be sure you are on the latest firmware and do a full calibration of the quad and the camera. That may correct the issue.

You can install the firmware from DJI GO like this. The remote controller firmware can be installed from DJI GO too (also covered in those instructions). The download is just an optional way to install it.

Two points for other newbies & non-tech-minded:
a. it wasn't clear, but combo power cable + USB OTG cable
as single cable needed btwn bird & remote to trigger download
b. all one's setting revert to default upon update

it took ?30? sec to download
& ~10 min to update...

My P4P does this also. Sometimes it stops in a minute & the next time 3 minutes.
I have all the updates installed. I'm I missing something ??

I can report my gimbal nodding stopped
with latest firmware update. Now swings
only once the few flights tried since!!!
Make sure gimbal touches absolutely
nothing -- blades of grass or whatever -- on its
first swing or it may keep swinging...
