Follow Me & home point

Tested the follow me mode and it worked well. The only thing that freaked me out is that the home point keep updating to new locations (not sure RC or aircraft position). I originally took off from my backyard and walked around the neighborhood. I was afraid that if somehow I lose connection the bird would attempt to land on the new home point, which might not be safe landing spot.

Is this normal? I rather have (options) the home point remain in original take off spot.

Follow Me works by changing the home point to where ever you are standing. It updates about every 5 seconds. I'm pretty sure if you lose connection that the P3 will over until its at critical battery and then land where it's located.
