Is it just the smaller qauds that are having fly away issues, or do the bigger hexa and octa's deal with this too? All I hear about is Phantoms and Blade 350QX's. I know there are more of the smaller ones out there, but I haven't seen much regarding this matter. Thoughts?

Its not the quad, its the controller. Search for NAZA flyaway or even wookong flyaway, and you get the idea.

I think there are a number of unknowns in the equation. DJI gear represents a HUGE share of the market and I've yet to see anything that suggests the rate of failure with DJI flight controllers is higher than anything else (since there really isn't any quantitative data out there).
