Criminals are so freaking brilliant. A drone? Sure, nobody will notice that.

    Hilarious!

Maybe the police will trace the drone serial number to some poor guy who had a flyaway.

''Phantom Vision devices are small enough to fit into the corner of a suitcase and manufacturer DJI claims they can fly for up to 50 minutes if fitted with an extra battery''

    50 minutes?!

I spoke with a prison officer about this and it is a serious issue.

The package contained mobile phone chargers and a bag of drugs - worth over £1000 inside. Take off the cost of the basic phantom - as this was what it was and you can see why it is attractive. They were aiming to fly high above the prison - so the noise was less and then do a CSC so it dropped silently. It didn't work, as they misjudged the drop zone by 20M or so.

You only need about 5 minutes flight time and the package weighed nearly 1KG, so you can see why it was worth the risk!
