He probably did that more then a few times now
But yes, that would be the safe way to go, 1.9.6 with debug and leave it alone for 30 minutes

I don't know what happened. Last night it looked like I still had AC 1.10.
FW 1.9.6 was on the sd card. Don't know how it went to 1.8.80+.

i am almost tempted to say downgrade to 1.7.6 normally, then re-flash 1.7.6 with the debug file. you should then be on 1.7.6 and you can go where ever you want from there
do not use the debug file at this point. untill you have downagrade to 1.7.6 the normal way if it lets you. then your also going to need to downgrade your remote controller. to 1.5.8
if you still end up on 1,8+ after that then try to install 1.9 the normal way. if that dont work then your going to need to follow my above instructions

GO 2.9.1, RC 1.8, and AC 1.9.6 seemed to work good for me.
At least I know how to go back further if I want to.
Had trouble with GO 1.10 and GO 3.1.2.
I got a notice earlier to upgrade to GO 3.1.3.
