just got my new phantom 4 pro do i have to connect to computer dji assistant to download anything or connect to wifi on i pad and open go 4 app ? also when if at all do you connect to the assistant software, sorry if its a dumb question brand new to this hobby thanks

Connect controller to iPad and open the go 4 app. No need to use Dji assistant unless you have a pro+. App should instruct you to upgrade firmware on controller and phantom.
